I wanted to convey a short story dark yet encumbersome of potential light at the end of the tunnel so I wrote a story below about an elk and plankton coming together to make this piece possible.

Once upon a time, in the depths of the ocean, there lived a tiny, glow-in-the-dark plankton named Sparkle. Sparkle loved to create beautiful melodies using the rhythmic patterns of the currents. Every night, as the moonlight filtered through the water, Sparkle would dance along, composing enchanting tunes that echoed through the marine world.

In a distant forest, tucked away amidst towering trees, there roamed a majestic elk named Harmony. With its elegant antlers and graceful strides, Harmony had a penchant for discovering the hidden melodies of nature. With each rustle of leaves in the wind and each bird's harmonious song, Harmony felt an unspoken connection to the world around it.

One day, fate brought Sparkle and Harmony together when a storm washed Sparkle from the sea onto the banks of a glistening river. As Sparkle struggled to find its way back home, it stumbled upon Harmony drinking from the same river. Their eyes met, and a mesmerizing connection was born.

Curious about this tiny creature, Harmony approached Sparkle with gentleness and curiosity. Sparkle, in turn, shared its story of the underwater world, its love for music, and the melodies it composed. Fascinated by Sparkle's talent, Harmony decided to collaborate, creating a unique blend of ambient sounds that spanned the land and sea.

Sparkle's bioluminescent flare and Harmony's resonant calls blended seamlessly, creating ethereal harmonies that transcended their respective environments. The haunting melodies of the oceans merged with the earthly tones of the forest, intertwining to create a captivating symphony that enchanted all who listened.

Together, Sparkle and Harmony journeyed across oceans and forests, sharing their harmonious gift with creatures big and small. The plankton and the elk taught others to find beauty in unexpected places, to listen with open hearts, and to embrace the power of collaboration.

mōshonsensu is the moniker for Daryl Robinson, a UK producer making a fresh start under a pseudonym of Japanese origin. Robinson’s music is equal parts meaningful, mysterious, uplifting and just occasionally troubling. In these respects it is an accurate reflection of feelings we have had throughout the last few years, but ultimately there is solace to be found in the ambient contours of his work and creation is all about the construction of elaborate sound worlds that whisk the listener away from the everyday and place them amid unknown machinery and mysterious animals, strange sounds emanating from abandoned structures, sand-borne decay and the solitude of the vast prairie.
