TRI:.OBYTE (Dennis McVeigh) is an artist / musician from Philadelphia, experimenting within Electronic, Ambient, Classical, Avant Garde, and Noise music, preferring not to operate solely within a specific genre. TRI:.OBYTE uses an array of synthesizers (both analogue and digital / modern and vintage), odd circuit-bent instruments, and varied experimental techniques in performance and production to create textures in music which invoke a feeling that is simultaneously primitive/futuristic . He seeks to communicate intelligent and emotional messages within instrumentation, sound design and composition, and to manipulate and occasionally ‘break’ sound in order to create an engaging, sometimes challenging experience and environment that is rewarding to the listener. TRI:.OBYTE (Dennis McVeigh) initially performed for many years as a vocalist in numerous operas in both Europe and the U.S. He was also a resident opera singer with the Spoleto Festival (Il Festival De Due Mondi) in Spoleto, Italy from 1995-2000. Feeling somewhat constrained by an art form that often emphasizes technique and tradition above all else, he decided to focus on his love of electronic composition and synthesis. TRI:.OBYTE often desires to merge his juxtaposed experiences in music, and the results can be heard on his recently released albums 'Forgotten Cambrian Creatures', and 'STAR ⠃⠊⠗⠞⠓ KIC 8462852'.
