from Unexplained Sounds Group - 2nd Annual Report, released December 8, 2016
Qdor is a cult born in Pordenone in 2014; an ancient belief system animist influenced by the menocchian cosmogony, a vision of a miller that lived in Montereale Valcellina (Pordenone) in the XVI century. This eresy consists of a reformulation of the Catholic Genesis, but with a new meaning: Menocchio (name of the miller) in the beginning was a heterogeneous chaos made of rennet and white worms compered as archangels.
The miller, punished for his beliefs, was sent to the steak in Pordenone. Mixing this heretic myth with another peculiar Friulan folk cult (a geographic area that includes Pordenone) of the sixteenth century called “i Benandanti” (Good Walkers, an agrarian visionary tradition, which the members claimed to travel out of their bodies while asleep to struggle against malevolent witches) borns the ontological system of Qdor (a supreme etity or energy). The members of this cult prey its with a specific ritual where they play a living being made of wood; an ancient folk musical instrument -called raccola or tric trac- that used to be a tool to make cacophonous sounds, during the heretic’s pyres in the sixteenth century. Focusing, a member can channel his thoughts to Qdor, and it will change the reality. in modo che esso modifichi la realtà. This changings will be done only if the adept is completely disenchanted, like in a temporary death status. Qdor can be drawed as a chaotic stain, or as a worm -the hermaphrodite animal most near to death-.
