from Unexplained Sounds Group - 2nd Annual Report, released December 8, 2016
With roots stemming from early synthpop and industrial, Rimas Campe has been creating electronic music since the early ‘90s. Under the band name of Total Devotion he appeared on multiple compilations with other synthpop artists such as Information Society, Anything Box and Seven Red Seven. After the year 2000 Rimas shifted his interests towards various forms of techno and instrumental electronic music, particularly minimal and dub techno. Using a DAW-based setup he created material sporadically with a DAW-based system, but it wasn’t until 2011 that he adopted the name alternating.bit (inspired by a glitch techno artist track by Jega and the film Tron) which has become the underlying moniker for his music creations. In late 2013 Rimas returned to a hardware-based setup and began to build a modular-based analog recording studio. His most prolific project is called Downscope though he has several other projects for different forms of electronic music.
